mC Work - metoCube exercise - Renaming an element id 464 created 2008-04-09 modified 2009-02-03

Exercise video (you can carry out this exercise in parallel by pausing the video and following the instructions written below)

mC Attention!!! this video was recorded with a previous version of metoCube. You might notice some changes in the user interface.

  • Go to "My subprocess" page and click on the "Edit" page tab
  • Change the element's name to "My renamed subprocess" and click on the "Save" button
  • Open your metoCube visio diagrams (in the example the file called "myname.vsd" inside the working directory "C:\metoCube\metoCube working directory\visio\").
  • In the diagram called "My subprocess" change the name of the shape called "My subprocess" to "My renamed subprocess" (this is not shown correctly in the video)
  • Click on the diagram tab and change its name from "My subprocess" to "My renamed subprocess"
  • In the diagram called "My process" change the name of the shape called "My subprocess" to "My renamed subprocess"
  • Click on the "Save" button and go to the File menu and select "Save as Web Page...". A "Save as" dialog window will open. Save the files in the "visio" folder in the working directory. When asked if you want to replace the existing files click on "Yes".
  • In metoCube, click on the Editor bar (at the bottom left corner of your screen).
  • Under the "Import visio diagram" section click on the "Import diagram" button. A little window called "Import diagram" will pop up. Click on the "Browse" button.
  • A new window will pop up showing your file system. Navigate to the "visio" folder of your working directory (for example "C:\metoCube\metoCube working directory\visio")
  • Delete the existing zip file (probably called visio.zip)
  • Right click on the "visio" folder and select "Send to" (Spanish: "Enviar a") and "Compressed (zipped) Folder". You can also zip the folder manually.
  • Click on the "Import" button.
  • Notice that the diagrams are now updated (if not, click CTRL+F5 to refresh the page).
